Max Woodhams This album makes me laugh. Wait. That's not a bad thing at all. I laugh sometimes because a moment is awesome. Sometimes I laugh because I'm experiencing genuine surprise and joy as I'm hearing something I've really not heard before. Sometimes I laugh because Down I Go manage to be actually funny in a way that does not diminish the music. Especially in this track I almost can't believe this music exists, and I'm so so glad it does.
(To be clear, the subject matter does not make me laugh..) Favorite track: Follow No-One Else.

sushi belly An abundance of creativity, spilling off the sides and splashing my feet with bright orange riffs.

Lizard Hips Simply their best work to date, astonishing amount of form on this - unsinkable to the highest levels, makes me want to take my shirt off and twirl it around my head. Also the brass, good lord, the brass on this. Cracking cheese, Gromit. Favorite track: You Don't Leave.

You don't leave, (we'll find out where she is, you'll tell us) We'll make sure, (we'll inject you with poison tell us) You don't leave, (please wake up open your eyes tell us) We need more. (he is gone he can never tell us) Light up the incinerator, this accident must be made right (we never intended this) Scatter his ashes in the lake, this accident must be made right (we just wanted answers from him) You don't leave (We'll never rest until we find out what we need) We'll find you (We have our methods of making you talk to us) What happened to my father, what did you inflict on him that day? (we'll never to admit to it) We picked up stones from beside the lake hoping something might remain (we're sorry for what you've been through) Do what we say, obey all day. If you won't stay in line, you'll suffer. You don't leave (you don't until we say) You don't leave, you don't leave, you don't leave. We'll starve you until you're weak and shaking We'll feed you until you're close to bursting (do what we say, awake for days)
